In Hairy, Lairy and Quite Contrary, Caitlin explores the functions of the body and how we can’t always control our body movements and reactions on a daily basis. Therefore in a social situation it’s deemed as grotesque and unacceptable to behave in such a way.

Caitlin extracts the noises and sense of movement of the digestive system through sound and kinetic sculptures. Furthermore she discusses body imagery and expectations of what comes with how the inside of the body functions with the outside of the body. She has also been heavily influenced by the circulatory system through how the vessels travel and shape around organs and pumps blood from and to the heart. Also the colours of the arteries, vessels and organs inspired the sculptures to co exist on what would be skin and hair to interlink how the body functions physically and psychologically.
